What to include in a motorsport fitment request
The product and vehicle details that help a supplier check equipment fitment and compatible accessories.
Identify the exact item
A product family name is a starting point, not a complete specification. Provide the manufacturer’s part number and variant, along with a link or photo of the product label if available. Different versions of a seat, restraint or mounting accessory can require different supporting components.
Describe the existing setup
Include the vehicle make, model, year and relevant modifications. For cockpit equipment, identify the seat, brackets and restraints already fitted. For electronics, record the device model and connector details. Ask the supplier which further information is needed instead of choosing from appearance alone.
Ask for the whole requirement
Request a list of required accessories and any conditions attached to compatibility. A component that connects to one item may still need another part or a specific installation arrangement. Ask for the supporting manufacturer documentation and keep it with your order.
Keep the decision traceable
Record who confirmed the combination, the date, the exact part numbers and any limitations. If the specification changes, request a new check. This guide helps you prepare a question for a qualified supplier; it does not establish fitment or provide installation instructions.
